Year of Cheer - Happy Birthday Card

I saw Susanne Netz (SuNN Stampin) make a similar card on YouTube and I just had to have a go.  I know this set is versatile but she actually made me look more at how to get even more from this stamp set.  She didn't discard the middle of the round stamps that was not part of the stamp, but kept them and used them as solid round stamps. This technique used could be applied to other solid stamps, for example flowers.
Using your markers apply a ring of ink to the outer edge and lightly spritz before stamping.  Using an Aqua painter wash the ink to cover the shape. To give definition I used the fine end of the marker to draw around the circle edge. I used Tempting Turquoise, Marina Mist and Lemon Lime Twist Markers.

Year of Cheer - Scribble Ring on Water Colour Paper

The Year of Cheer stamp set is a versatile set, to be used to celebrate Christmas, New Year and Weddings.  But you don't need to stop there!  I used the scribble circle stamp to help create a background for any occasion.
I began with wiping the paper with the Embossing Buddy. Stamp with Versa Mark, making sure to overlap the circles. Next apply the white embossing powder and heat set with a Heat Tool. Next tape the paper down to a board that you can pick up.  Lightly spritz the paper with water.  Apply drops of ink onto an acrylic block.  Use your Aqua Painter to apply the ink and watch the ink run.

This was my favourite background. It used Sweet Sugarplum, Peekaboo Peach and Blushing Bride.

This card used Traquil Tide, Lemon Lime Twist and Soft Sky.
I made the tassle with Lemon Lime Twist Finely Woven Ribbon.  Cut a small piece of ribbon. I apply a section of Fast Fuse across the middle and then fold in half, before pulling a thread.  The ribbon will unravel to the sticky section. Tie a piece of Bakers Twine to complete.

Year Of Cheer - Snowflakes on a Smooched Background.

I used Dapper Denim, Tempting Turquoise and Marina Mist markers. Lightly mist the water colour paper before adding colour.  Scribble patches  of colour onto a F size clear block and spritz with water before applying to watercolour paper. Add more colour  by repeating process.

When the watercolour paper is completely dry, wipe with the embossing buddy, before using Versa Mark to stamp the snowflake stamps from the Year of Cheer stamp set. Then spoon over white embossing powder and set with the Heat Tool.

Adding Stampin' Glitter to Embossing Paste.

I experimented using glitter with embossing paste.  By far the best results were to mix the glitter into the paste.  I did try sprinkling and pressing glitter into the embossing paste but this was not successful for me.  It sat on top and ended up everywhere.

I recommend mixing glitter into a small amount of paste using a palette knife. A small amount goes a long way! Remember to clean up straight after.

I used the clear glitter for my project with the medallion mask from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks.

OnStage Local, Melbourne November 11th

What a great day I had! This was my first and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole day from getting up very early, travelling in, meeting friends and new colleagues, listening to guest speakers, viewing demonstrations, lunch, more demonstrations, sharing of new product and finally getting to do some 'make and takes'. Taking home 4 new to be released stamp sets was pretty great too!

I am pictured here with Sue Madex. I attended her stamp classes and my adventure with Stampin' Up! began. I joined her team beginning as a hobbiest demonstrator and then a short time after I started my own stamp classes.

Now I am starting to build my own team!

Here's some of the lovely ladies I sat with.
Tania (2nd on R) is in my team and Maggie on her right is a member of her team.

It was a valued filled day! Before things kicked off, it was time to do some networking, meeting other demonstrators and doing some 'swaps'.

Here's some more swaps,

and some more swaps!  Thanks once more to all my fellow demonstrators that swapped with me! Loved them all!
