Lighthearted Leaves

This stamp set was a late purchase from the Holiday Brochure for me.  I initially flipped past the Thanks Giving section believing that it was not part of my  holiday celebrations but after seeing some gorgeous cards on Pinterest, I just had to get this set!
This set reminds me of the adult colouring in books which are all the rage! I got a set of gel pens and a colouring book, an early Chrissy present from a dear friend and spent the whole week-end colouring.  It was very soothing!  Just what I needed. I was ready to begin stamping again but all I could see in my mind was a card on Pinterest by 'ShawnStamps'.
The largest leaf was gold embossed on watercolour paper and filled in using inks and an aqua painter. It reminded me of all my colouring that I had been doing.
I gold embossed four leaves and started painting.  I went with Shawn's colour scheme  of Elegant Eggplant, Rich Razzlebury, Always Artichoke, I added Perfect Plum and left out Blackbury Bliss because I don't have it.  Sahara Sands was used for the background wash.
Each leaf was painted differently and each card was finished off slightly differently.

After the watercolour paper dried, this was the first card completed.  I only had a small piece of gold foil, so I had to cut my layers accordingly.
The sentiment was gold embossed and came from the Garden in Bloom stamp set.
The first layer used Elegant Eggplant, followed by the gold foil and the base used Rich Razzlebury.  A button with matching twine plus some gold thread completed the card.

This I think was my favourite.  The quote from the stamp set was gold embossed.  The watercolour was mounted on Elegant Eggplant and the base used Rich Razzlebury.  I used a band of Crumb Cake ribbon with a cheat's bow. Also, a candy dot finished the leaf off.

The quote from the stamp set was gold embossed and a candy dot was added.  I thought it needed something more, so I stamped the smallest ink splodges from Gorgeous Grunge with gold ink before mounting on Elegant Eggplant.  The base was background stamped with the same leaf with Elegant Eggplant and mounted with dimensionals.

This was the last card assembled.  It is very similar to the last with two minor differences.  The base used Rich Razzlebury and a different leaf was used to stamp the background.

Hope you liked these cards, as I certainly enjoyed making them.  I haven't finished using this stamp set.  I am going to do more colouring but not using watercolour.
