Summer Silhouette - Mothers Day Card

This is a one layer card. Mask off to expose square shape. Sponge with Pool Party Ink. Heavier in corners and edges and lighter in the middle. Stamp the leave stems from Summer Silhouette Stamp Set as placed in left corner and two at the bottom with Pear Pizzazz Ink.  Punch 9 flowers from Pink Pirouette cardstock using  the Itty Bitty Accents Punch and attach with Glue Dots.  Stamp the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Sentiments Stamp Set with Blushing Bride Ink on some white cardstock and cut using framelit from the Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits. Sponge the edges with Blushing Bride and attach with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Add Pearl Basics Jewels to complete.

Summer Silhouette - Sympathy 3

This card was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest posted by Penny627 on Spiltcoast Stampers.  I changed the shape of the card from square to a rectangular card and I tried to mimic her colour scheme. I masked off with  some scrap paper to expose a square shape  on the Smoky Slate cardstock and lightly sponged around the edges with Basic Grey to frame the scene. Then I stamped the leave stamp in White Craft and Basic Grey (some were stamped twice before re-inking).  The mask was removed (except along the bottom) and then the flower stems were stamped using Basic Grey. Next stamp the flower heads with Versa Mark Ink and heat emboss with White Embossing Powder. Attach a ribbon border with a cheat bow. Finish with stamping the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Sentiments.

Summer Silhouette - With Sympathy 2

I saw a card on Pinterest with clear embossed flowers on black cardstock. I did not have the same stamp set so I substituted it with Summer Silhouette.  The black layer is on a Smoky Slate cardbase.

Water Colour - Summer Sihouette 2

Of the two water colour cards that I made with Summer Silhouettes, this is my favourite.  I tried to make them look like the Hydrangea's that grow in my garden. The colours were a little washed out in the previous card, so I tried to make the flowers in this card more vibrant. I substituted Blushing Bride with Melon Mambo.
The flower stems were stamped with Grey Archival ink onto water colour paper. The flower heads were washed with  Melon Mambo, dried and then stamped with Wisteria Wonder. Washed again to soften. The stems were washed with Pear Pizazz and  the white space washed with Pool Party. Siver Wink of Sella completed the flower heads.

The water colour paper was mounted on Pool Party. The card base used Pink Pirouette. A band of White Jute Ribbon with a White Organza bow completed it

Watercolour with Summer Silhouettes

This week I have been playing around with the Summer Silhouette stamp set .  I have has some ideas swirling  in my head and thought I best get them made before this set retires.  Three of the cards are of my own design. The remaining two came from ideas that I had seen on Pinterest.  One of the cards used a different stamp set and the other I altered slightly.

I will begin first with my own design using watercolour.   I stamped on the flower stem onto watercolour paper with Grey Archival ink. Using an aqua painter I washed in the flower heads with Blushing Bride. Then washed in Pear Pizzazz around the stems, followed by washing the remaining white space with Pool Party.  I dried it off before stamping the flower head with Wisteria Wonder. Washed it again with a little more Blushing Bride to soften and blend it. I dried it off again and applied some Silver Wink of Stella  to the flower head.
It was then mounted onto some Pool Party cardstock. The card base used Pool Party and a panel of co-ordinating Colour Collections DSP.
I also used Pink Pirouette ribbon to complete it.
I will share another Summer Silhouette card using water colour on my next post.
