Number of Years - Number Backgrounds

I have two cards to show today, both with number backgrounds but two different techniques.

Happy 13th Birthday

The first 'Happy 13th Birthday' had a series of 13 stamped in a staggered pattern.  The '13's' were stamped in Versa Mark and clear embossed on Elegant Eggplant card base.

Three of each large balloons from the 'Balloon Celebration' stamp set was stamped in Pool Party, Tempting Turquoise and Wisteria Wonder.    Love the colour combination!
The balloons were also stamped with the co-ordinating stamp with Versa Mark and clear embossed to give   that little extra textured pattern.

All of the balloons were then punched out using the matching punch. (Another great bundle from the Occassions Catalogue).

Silver Metalic Thread was tied to six of the balloons (two of each colour), and adhered with a dimensional. Then all of the strings were  tied together and a glue dot adhered to the knot on the card.

The inside of the card was stamped and the remaining balloons adhered.

Happy 1st Birthday

The second card I found on Pinterest by Alisa Tilsner.  I made only minor changes to my card due to available materials.  The technique of faux embossing technique appealed to me.  I thought that it was going to be far more fiddly but turned out quite easy.

The inside of the card was stamped too.

Alisa's instructions were good.  To be on the safe side before cutting into good cardstock, I made a pratice piece using Whisper White base and numbers from scraps.

Position the cardbase on craftmat as in picture and then arrange numbers going down the centre and then arrange numbers cross ways. Using the lines on the cradtmat to keep straight.
The corners were lined up but must have been moved when taking the photo - sorry about that!

Number of Years - Look Who's Turning 5

My young nephew's birthday is coming up and this is the design I had in mind for his card. The background was washed using the large tip Aqua Painter and Tempting Turquoise ink on watercolour paper.  That is so easy to do.  If you haven't tried that techhnique yet, you must!

The small stars and words were stamped with Versa Mark and completed with Embossing powders.

The large star was cut from Silver foil, even though it appears blackish in the photo.  The '5' was also stamped in Versa Mark and powder embossed.

I didn't forget the inside of the card too!

Number of Years - Bookmark

When my book club resumed this year I gave each member one of these bookmarks.  They were very well received. I can't take the credit for the design, that was by Anja from Ophelia Crafts.
I especially loved how she tied the ribbon with a linen bow, something I am going to store away for future  use.

March Stamp of the Month - Numbers of Years with Large Number Framelits Dies

This stamp set is quickly becoming a favourite of mine.  This set gives a watercolour look and being made from photopolymer makes for easy alignment.

This stamp set can be used to celebrate important milestones in our lives, for instance birthdays, anniversaries, school years and more in our card and memory keeping projects.

Add the little flowers and stem stamps to make this a truly versatile set.

I have lots of ideas using a variety of techniques  featuring this stamp set to share with you in the coming week.

Flowering Fields in Black and White

I had an idea that I wanted to make a black and white card with stamping directly onto a doily.  I wasn't sure if I did too much stamping on the first doily, so I then stamped the second doily with the flowers confined to the centre of it.  The two cards are the results.
