Emboss using Framelits - Christmas Bauble Card.

Did you know you can use your framelits to emboss with.  Exchange one of your plates with a rubber mat. The framelits are then cushioned to emboss rather than cut.

I picked up the Delicate Ornaments Thinlits  Dies from the Clearance Rack.
To get the fine gold outline on the bauble, pat the die with Versa Mark before pressing. Apply Gold Embossing Powder and heat to set.  Extra glimmer was applied using a clear Wink of Stella pen.

Dazzling Details Christmas Bauble Card

To make the glittery window, punch or cut out a circle with a framelit and apply a sticky sheet to the back. Apply Dazzling Details glitter to the sticky window. I used some clear contact but clear packing tape works well too.  If you don't have either the Multipurpose Adhesives Sheets (144106) could be used as well. Add the ribbon and adhere the DSP behind to complete the bauble.

Foil Snowflakes Card

Love the pack of Foil Snowflakes from the Year Of Cheer Suite.  The snowflakes come in a  pack of 24, 12 silver foil and 12 in gold foil.  

I made a quick an easy card using a silver foil, co-ordinating washi tape, decorated with some rhinestones for extra bling.  The sentiment came from another new set Add a Little Glitz. I used Smoky Slate cardbase with a whisper white top layer,

Congrats Card featuring the Marker Batik Technique

The colour marker combination used to make this Marker Batik background (and last card in this series) was Tempting Turquoise, Pool Party and Dapper Denim.  This was a quick and thrifty card to assemble. I used the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits to cut the 'congrats'.  I used scrap pieces of ribbon on which the 'congrats' was glued to.  Further I had a stack of Metallic Enamel Shapes that had been waiting to be used!  Good feeling to make use of those things that we purchase and for some reason never get used! Usually
I reach for the rhinestones.

Sympathy Card featuring the Marker Batik Background

This is the second card made in this Marker Batik series. The combination of markers used to make this background paper was Wisteria Wonder,Soft Sky and Elegant Eggplant. Not sure of the name given to this technique, but I am going to refer to it as the Raised Inlay Die Technique.  The choosen thinlit from the Flourish Thinlits set was cut three times from Wisteria Wonder ( same as card base) as well as from the Marker Batik glossy sheet.  All were glued and stacked, ending with the glossy sheet. The decorative sheet was then adhered to the cardbase. Next, glue the stacked thinlits back into its spot. Embellish with rhinestones.  The sympathy sentiment came from Better Together stamp set.  It was stamped on Vellum with Versa Mark and embossed with Silver Embossing Powder and finished with Bakers Twine bow.

Baby Card featuring a Marker Batik Background

l have been playing around with glossy cardstock and found a technique new to me - Marker Batik.
Easy and doesn't make a big mess! All you need are some Stampin' Up Markers, glossy cardstock, plastic wrap, and some water in a spray bottle. Choose three markers, scribble on the plastic wrap and then spritz with water. Lay your glossy cardstock down, turn it over and use your hands to crinkle the plastic. Wrap the plastic edges over and leave to dry. Love the results!

In this baby card I used the marker combination of Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach and Sweet Sugarplum.
I used the Better Together stamp set for the sentiment and safety pin.  Both were stamped and embossed on vellum with white embossing powder.  I fussy cut the safety pin out. It made the perfect embellishment with the ribbon. Pink enamel shapes from the Subtles collection comlpeted the embellishment of the sentiment.

Naturally Eclectic - 6x6 One Sheet Wonder Cards

I used a 6x6" piece from the Naturally Eclectic DSP pack to create these cards and cut it accordingly to the pattern posted on my 29th blog page. On that day I made some Christmas cards. Today an assortment of birthday cards - with guys in mind.   I tried to use scrap pieces to complete the cards.  My favourite of the four was the 'Congrats Birthday' card.

Happy Birthday - On a piece of Soft Sky, which had been            washed using an aqua painter, graduating down in colour        with Night of Navy ink (106577). When dry cut out using
     Happy Birthday Thinlits (143700).  Brush with Wink of          Stella 141897).

Happy Birthday from Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set           (143662) was stamped in Night of Navy ink (106577) on         a piece of Soft Sky (131292) measuring 2 1/4 x 2 1/4".           Then layered on Lemon-Lime Twist cardstock measiring         2 1/2 x 2 1/2".

The DSP decorative paper was layed on Night of        Navy (106577) piece measuring 4 x 1 3/4".
Birthday was stamped using Labeler Alpabet              (141936) in Night Of Navy ink (106577) on        a scrap of Whisper White.
Congrats was cut from Night of Navy cardstock          (106577) using Sunshine Wishes Thinlits.

Season Like Christmas - Paper Tearing.

The technique this week is Paper Tearing. It's stepped up a little in this card with a torn border at one end. Easy to do. In this card the Whisper White (106549) piece measured 2 1/4 x 5 1/4" and the Lemon-Lime Twist (144250) piece of cardstock measured 2 1/2 x 5 1/4'. Hold the card together with a equal border of colour on each side.  Tear towards you on a slight angle.  After completing the stamping of the tree adjust the torn border edge to match width of side border and adjust length.  You may need to trim down the length of the white strip and then adjust length of coloured strip.
The tree was stamped in Tranquil Tide(144252). Stamp the first image off once to lighten. The tree trunk was stamped in Crumb Cake(121685).  The dots and sentiments were stamped in Versa Mark(102283) and embossed in silver (109131).  The decorative strip of Naturally Eclectic DSP (144185)

Season Like Christmas - Easy and Elegant Card in Smoky Slate

This was my first get from the new Holiday Catalogue - Creativity Delivered.  I love Christmas Trees!  This stamp set, Season Like Christmas (144860) is a two-step set, meaning multiple stamp layers are stamped to give dimension.  This is easy to do with a photoplymer stamp, as you can see through it for easy aligning.
The tree was stamped on  a piece of Whisper White measuring 2 1/2 x 3 5/8" and mounted on a piece of 2 x 3 7/8" Silver Foil.  The tree was stamped in Smoky Slate. Stamp in order as pictured on the cover. Stamp off to lightened the first image, stamp the second and trunk in Smoky Slate.  Stamp the dotty tree shape with Versa Mark and emboss with Silver embossing powder. Heat to set. Adhere the white layer to the foil sheet. Then attach to card base of Smoky Slate with dimensionals.  Stamp sentiment in right bottom corner with Versa Mark and emboss with silver embossing powder.
