Sweet Cupcake - Window Card and Gift Box

The card is a simple window box.  I used the Layering Circles framelits to cut the window and border edge.
The cupcake frosting used the combination of Dapper Denim, Marina Mist and Soft Sky. The cupcase was stamped with Tip Top Taupe and Sahara Sands.

The cupcase box was made from a piece of cardstock measuring 5x11 1/2 ".
Come to class to learn how to make this box.

Sweet Cupcakes - Frosting Colour Combinations Tips And Hints

It can be very confusing choosing ink colour combinations. Generally, you can get your cues from the catalogue - card examples and projects. Check out the colour combination used in the various Designer Series Paper. They are always listed at the bottom of the description.

I would begin with one ink colour when stamping the frosting and use the stamping off method to achieve varying shades of the one colour.
Alternatively, add a second ink either a lighter or darker shade and expirement with achieving different shades by 'stamping off'.

With this card I tried to match the frosting to the designer series paper. I used Soft Sky and Bermuda Bay.  For the frosting base I stamped off once with Soft Sky, second layer used Soft Sky and finally, stamped off with Bermuda Bay.

Lastly, you can choose three different inks from the same colour family.
Here are some three colour combo's that I like -
1. Dapper Denim, Marina Mist, Soft Sky
2. Blushing Bride, Flirty Flamingo, Watermelon Wonder
3. Daffodil Delight, Peekaboo Peach, Watermelon Wonder
4. Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Early Espresso

Sweet Cupcake Frosting Recipe

Want to give more dimension to the frosting on your cupcakes? Make some dimensional paste (frosting). Stamp the final layer in it and stamp it onto your cupcake.

Dimensional Frosting Recipe -
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 tablespoon white acrylic paint
1 tablespoon white craft glue
Classic Stampin' Ink Refill of your choice
Extra water for desired consistency
TIP - Clean your stamps immediately after using.

Sweet Cupcake - Wish Big Birthday Card

Love the Glimmer Paper that was added to Sale-A-Bration product.  I teamed it with some paper from Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Series Paper Stack on a Bermuda Bay card base.
The cupcake base used Crumb Cake ink. I stamped off twice for the base and second layer, and stamped off once for the top layer.
The frosting was stamped all with Bermuda Bay.  Again, I stamped off twice for the base and second layer, and full strength for the top layer.  I brushed clear Wink of Stella over the top layer.

Sweet Cucake Bundle

This bundle from the annual catalogue is my latest purchase.  Cupcakes are delicious and the stamped image looks good enough to eat too!
It is a two-step stamp set which means multi-layering of stamping to give lots of dimension.
It also is a photopolymer stamp which means you can see through it to easily line up the layering of stamping.
For the two-step stamping (really three), the images are labelled 1,2 and 3, but I prefer to stamp 3,2,1.

Also, to begin with choose one colour for the frosting and choose another colour for the case. Stamp off for a lighter shade in layers 3 and 2. Stamp in full strength for the top layer.

For example use Crumb Cake for the cases of the cupcakes in picture. For the frosting the first cupcake would use Daffodil Delight, the second Melon Mambo and Pool Party for the last. You could
also stamp different ink combo's.
